Call for applications
We welcome applications for the COCAG COST Training event - ECADOC Summer School for doctoral students in career guidance and counselling, to be held in Wroclaw in Poland on 2nd to 6th June 2025 inclusive.
The COCAG (Critical perspectives on career and career guidance) project is a COST Action,which aims at gathering scholars across Europe and beyond to explore how careers are changing in the contemporary world and consider what response is required from public policy and practice. This training school will foster debate around individuals’ careers in the changing reality and times of crises. It will enhance deeper understanding of policy makers and career guidance and counselling practices’ critical responses to current challenges.
The Summer School will be hosted by Associate Professor Anna Bilon-Piórko, Professor Rie Thomsen, DSW University of Lower Silesia, Wroclaw, and Professor Tristram Hooley (COST project coordinator). The programme consists of readings, keynote presentations, collective academic supervision, reflections on a research career, and international collaboration.
We will welcome current doctoral researchers at the Summer School.

Deadline for application: January 31tst 2025. Please submit as one file PDF to ecadoc@dsw.edu.pl.
Notification of acceptance: March 2025
Documents for application (to be attached as one file PDF)
- A completed application form
- A CV in English
- A description of your doctoral research project, illustrating its relevance to the field of career guidance and counselling (max 1 page)
- A certificate of enrolment as a PhD student (scanned copy) or other verification of enrolment in a PhD programme
There is no fee for participating in the summer school. However, all participants must pay 150 EURO covering meals at the summer school and take care of their own travel and accommodation. The summer school will be hosted by The DSW University of Lower Silesia.
The DSW University of Lower Silesia [ULS] is a non-public university that promotes an innovative approach to learning and builds research networks at the national and international levels.
