Doctoral dissertation – the general procedure for the award of the doctor of science degree. The dissertation shall be opened at the request of the doctoral student. A specially appointed committee oversees the proper conduct of all activities in the doctoral programme. The whole procedure ends with a public defence of the dissertation and is closed on that day regardless of the outcome of that defence.
